Setting up your keyboard shortcuts

Hyperspaces provides keyboard shortcuts for most actions within the application. Many of these shortcuts are not set by default, but you can customize them to use whatever key combination you would like.

Change Spaces without Direction

Switch to the next space
Switches to the next space sequentially, ie. Space 1 → Space 2 → Space 3 → Space 4.
Switch to the previous space
Switches to the previous space sequentially, ie. Space 4 → Space 3 → Space 2 → Space 1.
Switch to the previously active space
This works similarly to Safari's "Snap back" function. Pressing this hotkey will take you back the space you were on before your current space.

Individual Spaces

You can set a keyboard shortcut for each of your spaces individually using these items.

Add/Remove Spaces

Add a new row of spaces
Adds a new row of spaces to the system.
Remove a row of spaces
Removes the last row of spaces from the system.
Add a new column of spaces
Adds a new column of spaces to the system.
Remove a column of spaces
Removes the last column of spaces from the system.

Change Spaces with Direction

Switch left
Switches to the space to the left of the current space. If the current space is on an edge, pressing this key will wrap around the spaces grid.
Switch right
Switches to the space to the right of the current space. If the current space is on an edge, pressing this key will wrap around the spaces grid.
Switch up
Switches to the space above the current space. If the current space is on an edge, pressing this key will wrap around the spaces grid.
Switch down
Switches to the space below the current space. If the current space is on an edge, pressing this key will wrap around the spaces grid.

Note: If the system is already using a key combination, you will not be able to set it. Hyperspaces will do it's best to let you know when this happens.
