Showing and hiding desktop icons for a space
Hyperspaces allows you to show or hide the icons on your desktop on a per-space basis. This can be help you setup a space (or more than one space) where your desktop is free of distractions.
- Open the Hyperspaces Preferences.
- Select the Your Spaces toolbar item.
- Select the space (or spaces) that you would like to change the menu transparency for in the space selection view.
- Ensure that the Options tab is selected.
- Check/uncheck the Show desktop icons checkbox.
To make this feature more useful:
- While the desktop icons are hidden you can still single-click on the desktop to activate the Finder.
- Double-clicking the desktop while the icons are hidden will open a new Finder window containing your Desktop folder.
